Representative Projects
Environmental Site Assessments. Conducted Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for the acquisition of ten gravel plants, four Type-V recycling centers, and hundreds of commercial, industrial and residential properties in the U.S. Studies were performed utilizing ASTM Standards and Guidelines and in numerous cases included subsurface investigations and corrective actions.
Underground Storage Tanks. Conducting site investigations and underground storage tank removals at numerous commercial facilities including former service stations. Studies included tank removals, soil and groundwater sampling and testing, regulatory negotiations, and site closures.
Former Rail Road Yards. Conducted site investigation and remediation activities at five former rail road yards located in Texas. Contaminants included petroleum hydrocarbons, metals in soil, and pesticides. Comprehensive risk-assessment activities at these facilities resulted in the need for active remediation at only one of these sites. Three of these sites have received regulatory closure for residential land use by the State of Texas.
Oil and Gas Properties. Conducted comprehensive historical research and site investigation of proposed residential subdivision properties. Properties were located within dense historic oil fields. Numerous historic wells sites, pits, and underground piping were discovered during the assessment process. Corrective actions plans were developed to further investigate each of these historic features and remove or resolve any identified concerns prior to beginning home-building activities.
Chemical Manufacturing Facility. Conducting site investigations and remedial actions in support of the resolution of outstanding environmental concerns identified under state regulatory enforcement actions. Services also include permitting and closure of hazardous waste vessels and tanks.
Litigation Support and Expert Witnessing Testimony. Services provided during deposition for a Houston-based building materials supply company as a result of an on the job injury lawsuit. The case was successfully settled and the defense counsel for the company credited the expert witness testimony for this positive settlement.
